Welcome Back

Annual Partner Summit

We have been through a lot in the past two and a half years since our last Annual Partner Summit: Covid, digital migration, Network growth, staff transitions, program expansion, new languages onboarded. Frankly, it’s staggering how much can happen in such a short amount of time. The gathering this year will certainly be one of gratitude and a healthy pride and admiration for all the work each individual, team, and the whole Network have done amidst much adversity in this past season.

Our last Summit occurred in April 2019 (!) and while much has changed, the ultimate purpose of the Summit has not. As a Network, we want to set aside intentional time for ourselves and our teams to connect with each other in a spirit of camaraderie and with an intention to challenge ourselves to get better at creating impact in this mission of transforming lives and communities through entrepreneurship.

While we’d all love to meet happily and safely in person, this year we’ll need to host the Summit online. We’ll shorten up our time together (10:30am-4:00pm ET) to keep screen fatigue to a minimum and make sure folks can stay on top of the busy program semester. At the same time, we’ll aim to keep that shortened time concentrated with high-impact information and interactions that will serve you well as you move ahead with this work.

Director of National Program Partnerships

Tentative Agenda

(introductory paragraph)

Attendees

Why A Summit?

Our personal, creative, productive, open-minded, informative, relational, movement-oriented event.

  • Connect

Deepen the relationships within the Rising Tide Network at the personal and organizational levels

  • Collaborate

Share learning and innovation; develop ideas for improving our approach and operations; workshop major questions/challenges in real-time

  • Cast Vision

Share our stories and explore the mission space together; strengthen our own personal connection to the mission work we do; grow our shared vision for the future of the network

  • Clarify

Sharpen the understanding of each other’s organizations and their immediate/strategic issues; solidify our understanding of the partnership

Outcomes and Desire

Subheading goes here

  • Increase awareness and understanding of each others’ organizations and the working model and its parts

  • Gather feedback and develop strategies for addressing pressing issues of operation and strategic areas of growth

  • Gain new knowledge and perspective on how to do this work

  • Develop ownership of the Rising Tide Network and affection for the people in it -- especially with new staff in new positions

  • Have fun!

What Should I Bring?

This is a participant-oriented event where those attending will be driving much of the content of the retreat. As such, please come prepared with:

  • A spirit to connect, collaborate, cast vision, and clarify

  • A willingness to listen and learn; a willingness to share and serve

  • A few topics that you would like to explore/discuss/unpack with your colleagues, for example:

    • What trends are you seeing in terms of enrollment and how is that shaping your marketing strategy?

    • How does relationship management work with your fundraising team -- what are you learning and where are you getting stuck?

Facilitator(s)

Director, Director of National Program Partnerships / Rising Tide Capital

Chris Breitenberg

Chris Breitenberg is the Director of National Program Partnerships, overseeing RTC’s initiative to share the New Jersey-based model with other cities and organizations across the country.
Throughout his career, Chris has worked at the intersection of peace-building and justice with a specific focus on serving people and their agency to create lasting, significant change in their lives, communities and world. This has led him to positions running leadership training programs in South Asia, directing communications departments for an international NGO, strategy planning for businesses and non-profits in the US and starting his own business, Parallel, Inc.
As a New Jersey native, he’s grateful for the chance to serve the ongoing work of RTC in the Garden State while exporting this homegrown work nationwide. In his spare time, you’ll find him playing music, cooking up a storm (please invite yourself to dinner) and starting spontaneous dance parties with his two-year old daughter.

FAQ

  • What is Open Space Technology (OST)?

OST is a methodology for facilitating the self-organization of groups around critical topics that drive conversations towards a larger theme or question. OST is completely participant-driven, so please come prepared with a topic or two you would like to discuss! Full details will be explained at the Summit.
